World of Warcraft

World of Warcraft - The New IRC Hotness

In an age when chat programs come pre-installed in all our computers and they auto-launch to boot, why is it that I log onto Warcraft to chat with my friends?

With guild chat and party chat in full effect, I find that I'm able to get a real conversation in with my fellow gamers as well as some quality grind-time. It's not unusual for me to logon at any moment of the day and catch at least one of my cronies online.

I'm like a shooting star in my quest to reach level 40. I'm a whisker away from 38 and grohk tells me that 4 hours in the Badlands will get me to 40. I'm not sure what the stigma is with getting a riding mount, but it sure is creating a stir in my virtual gut. I've learned more and more about the game over the past 4 months and if I could do it all over again, I would have chosen the same class (Priest) but a different race (I'm a Night Elf). I think I would choose a Dwarf or a Human if I could go back. The Night Elf is just a little too squishy to be a squishy. ;-)

Death & Taxes vs. Naxxramas

I found two movies from WoW that I thought some of you might enjoy...

The first one cronicles the first glimpse of [Sapphiron](http://www.wowwiki.com/Sapphiron) by the guild [Death & Taxes](http://www.dtguilds.com/) --

World of Warcraft is killing my website!

It's official, WoW killed the blog.

Since I began my foray into the MMORPG world of WoW, Code0range has gone down the tubes. Posts are down, comments are down, traffic is down and my spirits are down. It's mostly my fault, so I have no one else to blame - 4 fingers would be pointing at me even if I *did* try to finger another culprit! Myself, cienfuegos, aelfkins and grohk have been meeting up on Friday nights in cyberspace to quest together and bring our collective nerd-dom to its full potential - after all, we do meet up on **Friday** nights.

It started as a lark but has become an obsession. There are no two ways about it. If there were something I could do to bring back my peeps, I would do it. So this is my battlecry - write a World of Warcraft post and see if it baits them to comment. Brilliant yet simple logic. Now all I have to do is wait and then I can spring my trap! I've tried and failed (luckily) to bring other 0rangers into the fold (krispynmilk among others) but they wisely declined knowing it would take over their lives. I guess that means krispy has no excuse for not posting anything in 10 weeks!

I've joined the ranks of World of Warcraft players - there goes the neighborhood!

I have to admit, after playing [City of Heroes](http://www.cityofheroes.com/), I was hooked on the MMORPG genre. I let my real life take over after a while and stopped playing on a consistent basis. You know you're playing sporadically when everytime you log on there's a patch to download. Unfortunatley, City of Heroes' newness wore off and many players abandoned the game leaving it virtually devaoid of real players.

I have since picked up [World of Warcraft](http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/) - what was I thinking. As opposed to CoH's small install, WoW has a 5 disc marathon. I finally got everything loaded on my machine and away I went. I have begun as a Priest - I liked to heal in CoH, so I was advised by aelfkins that Priest was the way to go. He was not wrong. WoW has such deep gameplay mechanics and exciting combat (for an RPG) that I was instantly hooked to the game and the underlying story. I quickly jumped to level 6 (where I now sit) and I'm ready for some team adventures.
